A partnership founded in 1985, Rixey-Rixey Architects focuses on high-end residential work including new houses, full house renovations, and additions. Located in offices overlooking the Potomac River in historic Georgetown, the firm provides full architectural design, interior design, and sustainable design services to a discerning clientele. While most projects are located in the Washington metropolitan region, the firm serves many repeat clients in locations as diverse as Sanibel, Florida, Little Compton, Rhode Island, and Fairhope, Alabama. The firm also selectively undertakes commercial and institutional projects on a limited basis.


Douglas Rixey, AIA is a registered architect in the District of Columbia, State of Maryland and Commonwealth of Virginia and a member of the Washington Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He completed his undergraduate studies in architecture at the University of Virginia where he also received his Master of Architecture graduating with honors as recipient of the AIA Medal. He taught design at the University of Houston, Catholic University, and Marymount University. Douglas was a member of the Arlington County Historical Affairs and Landmark Review Board, and served an advisor on the Board of the Historic Rosewell Foundation. He currently serves on the Board of the Foundation for the Preservation of Historic Georgetown.

Victoria G.K. Rixey, AIA, LEED AP is a registered architect in the District of Columbia, a member of the Washington Chapter AIA, and is certified in sustainable design.  She is a graduate of the University of Virginia, received her Master of Architecture from Rice University graduating with honors, and earned an MBA from Georgetown University graduating as a member of Beta Gamma Sigma. She has taught design at the University of Maryland and Catholic University. Victoria served on the Board of the Washington Chapter AIA as Director of Design Issues, and has served on the Board of the Citizens Association of Georgetown for eight years, most recently completing three terms as President.
